Unique Stay at a Turn Of The Century
Schoolhouse
My husband and I stayed at the National
Trail Schoolhouse Inn for Valentine’s Day
and it was wonderful! We loved the beautiful
antiques, unique setting, and many comforts.
Our room contained a very comfortable
queen-sized 4-poster bed with a fireplace
and floor to ceiling windows. It was
especially nice to look out the window and
watch the snow falling, while being warm and
cozy. We liked the restful, country setting
while being only 15 miles from Newark,
Zanesville and Dresden (Longaberger). There
are so many outdoor (Flint Ridge, the
Mounds, Dawes Arboretum) interests as well
as indoor (museums, churches, shopping).
Tracy and Jeff, new owners, were very
gracious. We enjoyed the superb breakfast
prepared (seemingly) effortlessly by Tracy
as we sat around the table drinking coffee,
talking, and enjoying the many schoolhouse
memorabilia. They have a lot of great ideas
for the future of the B&B - especially
weddings. This was our first experience
staying at a bed and breakfast... and on a
scale of 1 to 10, we gave them an 11!

Warm Anniversary Dinner!
I took my husband for a romantic dinner at
this warm, cozy B&B. We had a candlelight
dinner, with roses adorning the table, soft
music and a fire going to add to the
romance! The Innkeeper took care of all the
details but was sure the menu should be
pleasurable by the guests by asking
qualifying questions of palate preferences.
It was a surprise to my husband and myself
and the courses were amazing. We had a
wonderful time in the quiet beauty. The
innkeeper also gave a tour of the entire
property which is a beautiful, nostalgic
schoolhouse and Wonderful rooms!!
We will definitely return!

It's a must visit
What a great place. If you like history,
atmosphere and a nice family feel you can't
miss this place. Rooms spacious. Great room
open to all visitors is located on the
school stage. Old blackboards and
decorations fit the mood. Breakfast with
Tracy and husband in large country kitchen
was outstanding. This is what B&B's are
suppose to be.
